Mr. Shankar is a 27 year veteran of the computer and telecom business with successful experience in computing, private networks, switching, transmission, competitive local exchange carriers, long distance services, wireless, internet and satellite communications.
During his career, “CP” has gained a solid reputation among colleagues, customers and investors alike as a result oriented executive with a unique balance of strategic insight and hands on operational expertise.
In addition to a creative & strategic mind, he brings together an intimate knowledge of computer and telecom technology, their role in helping businesses compete more effectively, as well as a compelling vision for the future of such technologies and how they can transform organizations and society at large.
A seasoned general manager, CP has run both small & large organizations, managed a variety of innovative, high octane, product and service launches for several top tier U.S. and Japanese technology companies. CP has successfully held increasingly responsible senior executive positions in global sales & marketing, product development, manufacturing, supply chain management and customer care operations at Orion (satellite services), Hughes (cell phones, DirecPC & OnStar), Fujitsu (cell phones, digital media multiplexers, private networks), Doelz (remote access devices), GTE (pbx), and Nortel (pbx & mini computers).
His specific expertise is in building strong multicultural teams that can deliver innovative product or service programs, strategic planning, management of multiple distribution channels, pricing strategies, national advertising, merchandising & brand promotion programs with a quantitative approach to solving complex business problems.
More recently, working with private equity funds, he has helped to successfully restructure their investments in satellite based content distribution, competitive local exchange carrier, and international IP transit services.
CP’s primary focus is in helping build & grow successful ventures in technology, energy, telecom – wifi, zigbee, wimax, bpl, network security and healthcare solutions for managing chronic illnesses.
He has also served on the boards of several local technology companies.
